Guidelines for Abstract Submission

Abstract Deadline has passed.

In recent years CIAP has received more abstracts than we have room to display. All abstracts will now be peer-reviewed by Steering Committee members according to the following criteria:

  1. Contribution to the field (e.g., enhances understanding of basic mechanisms, factors that affect patient performance with a cochlear implant, new approaches or methods)
  2. Quality of research (e.g., design, rigor, insightfulness)
  3. Subject matter: complementary to the program/important area not addressed by the program/provocative idea to present.
Accepted abstracts will be included in the Conference Program. Abstracts must be no longer than one page (when printed in Arial 12 point type with one-inch margins.) The abstract submission page has fields to accept the following information: Click here for an example of a formatted abstract from CIAP 2011. Abstracts must be submitted by 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on March 15, 2013. All accepted abstracts will be included in the Conference Program booklet. The first author will be sent information on the status of their abstracts by May 1, 2013.

Authors from outside the US should leave the “State” selection blank.

If there are special characters in your abstract (mathematical symbols or Greek letters), please e-mail a WORD or pdf version of the complete abstract to ImplantableAuditoryProstheses@gmail.com

Poster Size

Poster boards are 4 ft by 8 ft (1.2 meters by 2.4 meters).

Poster presentations will be assigned one of two sizes: 4x8 ft, or 4x4 ft.  First Authors will be notified by May 1, 2013 of the acceptance and size of the poster presentation.

Some submitted abstracts will be selected for short (10-12 min) podium presentations.
